So Many Gifts, So Little Room

2 Jan

First, I hope everyone had an amazing holiday! We did. But it was BUSY and now I’m broke.

My parents and sister stayed at our house on Christmas Eve. My parents are all sad now that all of the kids are grown up and out of the house and they don’t get the big Christmas morning anymore. So I invited them to stay with us so that they could see the girls freak out on Christmas morning – which they definitely did.

Gracie asked Santa for a dollhouse and she got it. The box was about 3 ft tall so it was a pain in the butt to wrap, but even more of ¬†a pain to put together on Christmas and ended up standing 4 1/2 feet tall. She loves it though!¬†Abigail wanted a 3DS, so Santa brought her that with a few games. She can’t figure out how to play any of her games yet so she just keeps using the camera to take pictures of everyone. It’s cute. They got a ton of other stuff too, so I’m trying to get their bedroom organized so we have somewhere to put all of it. I’ve already got two trash bags full of old clothes and one of old toys to get rid of. Looks like a trip to donate to Goodwill is in my near future.

Fiance and I got each other mostly clothes and shoes, but he did get me Zumba for the Wii which I’m pretty excited to play. He also got me a gift card to get my iPhone screen fixed (it’s been cracked for like 6 months, haha).

Now that the holidays are over I’m trying to get my house clean and organized before the spring semester starts and I’m back at school. Crazy ol’ me decided to take 17 credit hours next semester so I’ll pretty much have ZERO life from January to May. And this will be my last semester at school before my wedding in August so I hope I didn’t spread myself too thin. I’m starting to get a bit stressed that I’m behind in planning so I need to get back on that.

On to a super awesome amazing topic, though: my best friend in the whole world is coming to visit and will be arriving on Saturday! We’ve been friends for ten years and she joined the navy a few years back so she’s moved around a lot but we always make sure to call and text and visit each other. Every time we get together it’s all reminiscing, watching movies and laughing our asses off so you can probably guess how excited I am (: I hope to update you all in the next few days with a couple recipes I’m trying out this week for dinners.

Oh! And one last thing before I go. If you haven’t yet seen the movie Django Unchained, I highly recommend it. It was amazing. Definitely the best movie I’ve seen in a long time.

Reunited and It Feels So Good

19 Dec

Well, here I am. Back in the interwebz. I used to be around, years ago. (I owned Paper Hearts, for those who may remember me) I was engaged to the father of my two little girls but our relationship went downhill fast and I decided to leave. That was 3 1/2 years ago.

I reunited with an old boyfriend from high school and we dated for two years before he asked me to marry him in Disney World! He and I went to Disney for my birthday a few months after we started dating; it was our first vacation together. The next time we went, we took the girls with us (it was their first time) and that’s when he proposed. He said he always knew that would be where he’d do it. It was amazing.

We are tying the knot in August 2013, which gave me a ton of time to plan – or so I thought. But then I realized I’m super busy and planning a wedding is ridiculously stressful. I wish I had like three years to plan, but I don’t want to wait three years to get married.

In addition to planning my fairy tale wedding and taking care of the house/kids, I am a full-time student working toward my degree in Psychology. I’ve finished two semesters so far, starting my third in January. Both semesters I’ve made President’s List (woot woot!) so I’m super busy with schoolwork all the time. It’s a pretty hectic life, but it’s mine and I love it.

One thing I really love to do is cook. You’ll probably see me posting tons of recipes and pictures of food so I’ll warn you now. I will probably also bombard you with wedding ideas and asking for opinions on everything because, well, I’ve never planned a wedding before so I’m kind of clueless o_o

So cheers to the beginning of my Dream Come True!
